: Laseto lacerates the hopes of 3rd years as 4th move closer to the title

Players warm up before playing a match.

Level four soccer team passed their final major hurdle towards winning the AMSUN league cup thanks to an Abdaz Laseto brace in the two halves.

In a game that most thought will be a fight of the tournament, Morrison Ng’ang’a’s men dominated possession from the first minute to the last as they showed just why they have to be crowned the 2016 AMSUN league champions with the final score being 2-0 in favour of 4th Years.

The results were a final nail on the hopes of the level III team retaining the league as the level IV team has a rather straight forward fixture ahead of them, with a really struggling level II game lying in wait on Friday at the KMTC pitch and a rather weakened level V side at the morgue pitch.

The level IV’s start gave an indication that all wouldn’t be well for the level III team. The senior side dominated from the first minute with their midfield maestro Tony aka Xavi demonstrating why he is next to non in CHS as far as dribbling is concerned. Flanked by Bula and Osiemo on either side, the boy was given freedom to roam and do harm, and surely, he did do harm to his opponents. The first demonstration came in the 9th minute when he dribbled past three opposition players, gave a wonderful through ball to Saikwa only for the left winger to shoot direct at the keeper.

Xavi stepped up again minutes later when he cut in from the right, dribbled past his man only for Melvin Osiemo to shoot wide.

Abdaz Oaseto was similarly dominant over his marker as he constantly tormented his man, turned him inside out only for him to be fouled. The big boy stepped up for his team when it mattered most and converted from the resulting free kick.

The proceedings calmed a little towards the end of the first half as the level IV team passed the ball around in rather harmless regions making their opponents who were a goal down to keep chasing shadows.

The level III side rarely threatened their opponents in the first half with their solitary opportunity coming in the 27th minute when Ronnie broke off from Odie only for the tall Bondo striker to shoot wide.

The second half was a rather boring half, coupled with the heavy rains that fell making the pitchy so muddy.

The level III nearly levelled in the 59th minute when Ronnie capitalised on the nature of the pitch to break off from Varma only for his shot to be dealt with comfortably by BethuelLunani.

It was not until the 80th minute when capitalised on a rebound from the keeper to tap home his second of the day, and his sixth for the whole campaign.
