Fourth years win AMSUN LEAGUE 2017

Morrison Ng’ang’a’s boys seal their first ever AMSUN title in the maiden season as fifth years cry foul.

Abdaz Laseto hit his fourth brace in the AMSUN league taking his total tally to 8 as forth years saw off fifth years to win the AMSUN league.

Fourth years went into the match needing just a point to win the league but ended up scooping all the three points thanks to an Abdaz brace five minutes apart in the first half.

The juniors had their most electrifying game in the first half as fifth years were punished thoroughly for starting with three centre backs at the back.

Fifth years were statistically still in the race if they won the game, and everyone expected the seniors to give their juniors a run for their money, but it ended up being a routine win for the juniors as they went on to lift the title.

The game started with a high tempo with both sides threatening the other, but it was not until the 34th minute when Abdaz struck his team’s first and his record seventh in the league, thanks to some nice passing between Tony, Mwondi and Abdaz.

In the 36th minute, Saikwa fired straight into the hands of KK after he was mistaken to be offside by the fifth year defenders. The man run to a through pass from Mwondi and with all the time and space to himself, the man decided to keep the senior side in the game by passing the ball straight into the hands of the keeper.

Ombui fired wide from a contagious free kick minutes later before Abdaz Laseto fired home his second for the day, to take his overall tally to 8.

The second half was a rather relaxed half with no much activities, with the senior side looking more contended with a loss.

In the 65th minute, Varma displayed a typical captain performance to keep his side in the game by clearing the ball off the line after his keeper Bethuel Lunani was beaten to a corner.

It was a professional display from the juniors, who recorded their fifth win of the season to win the league with 16 points.

OPTA STATS

  • Abdaz has now scored four braces in his teams six games, pure magic.
  • Forth years won the league unbeaten, and conceded just two goals, the first ever side to achieve such a performance.
